Meal Plan Basics

The first board day for each semester is TBA and will be announced prior to the start of the term.

Meals can be used at Ade Dining Hall. Meal Exchange is available in the Powell Campus Center.

Yes. All residential students are required to have a meal plan for the full academic year, except: Seniors with 90+ completed credits, Ford Street residents, and Special Interest House residents. Students who have not selected a meal plan by August 1, will be assigned the Purple plan.

Residential and off‑campus students select their meal plan through THD when they complete their housing application or when applying to live off campus.

Your fall meal plan will automatically roll over to spring unless you choose a different plan.

Commuter meal plans are available only to students who live off campus, seniors with 90+ completed credits, and students living in Ford Street Apartments or the Special Interest Houses.

The Black Knight plan is only available to students who have lived on campus for more than a year.

Meal plans may be changed or canceled only during the first week of classes. After the first week, cancellations or downgrades are not permitted. You may upgrade your meal plan at any point in the semester by visiting the Office of Residential Communities located on the main floor of Barlett Hall.

Yes. The King, Gold, and Purple plans each include 3 guest meals. Block plans cannot be used for guest meals.

Meals, Dining Dollars & Fiat Bux

Balances can be checked through your student account or at dining locations.

Dining Dollars are funds included with your meal plan that can be used like a declining balance account at participating campus dining locations, including retail, and other dining venues.

Yes. Dining Dollars may be carried over from one semester to the next only within the academic year (fall to spring) as long as you do NOT cancel your meal plan. Should you be eligible and cancel your meal plan between semesters, any unused portion of Dining Dollars is not refundable and not transferable.

Fiat Bux are funds that can be loaded onto your ID Card. They can be used at Saxon Dining locations, the bookstore, the clay store, and the design store. Funds can be added in any amount through Alfy Card. Purchases made in campus dining locations are tax-free.

No. Weekly meals reset every Sunday.

Meal Exchange lets you use a meal for a designated meal at participating retail dining locations instead of the dining hall. Each Meal Exchange includes a main entrée, a side, and a drink.

Meal plans provide one (swipe) per meal period. Whether you're dining in the dining hall or using a meal exchange (where available), you may use one meal during each meal period.

Breakfast: 6:00–11:00 AM

Lunch: 11:00 AM–4:00 PM

Dinner: 4:00–7:00 PM

Late Night: 9:00 PM–12:00 AM
